I am doomed

HI

discovered today that on July 7th, Apple opened a new store in Middleton Wisconsin, just two miles down the ford from Madison Music, our guitar store.  That’s a $ 2000 gamble every time we go to Madison.   What will we do?

Doomed, I say. . .

Hi
this is our friend Mike, and his wife Sue. Next to Mike is their grandson Ethan. A very nice family. Mike and Sue are helping to raise Ethan. Don’t know the details. Don’t want to know, none of our business. But. . . Ethan is a very lucky boy. He has more love, affection, attention, and direction than 99% of kids today. You can see it in the pics that we’ll be posting. Unassuming folks from the midwest that are people you would be proud to know. We are. . .
It’s the things that don’t get big attention that make a difference. Mike and Sue are making a difference. . .

Well, here we are. It’s Friday. The work week is upon us again. We had a great vacation, and now we are back in the norm of life. So much to take in. We rode the Sparta Elroy bike trail, the first rails to trails path in the country. Beautiful country, and sharing it with friends made it that much more enjoyable. Work is what pays for the good times.
Tomorrow, we head back to Wisconsin to do another ride. This one will be on the sugar river trail. Then, the evening brings adventures of a different sort.

Here, there and everywhere

Hi

Jam2

Jam2

we went for a bike ride today with Mollie & Bill. We rode from their house to Rock Cut park, where Bill and I did a lap around the park, and then, back to their house.  Maggie did great!   Best ever, I think.  Tore it up, and didn’t get fatigued.  Good practice for our trip to Wisconsin later in the week.
Home for a shower and a nap and then out to dinner with Mollie and Bill.  Mollie’s company did the window blinds for a new chain restaurant in the area.  Granite City Brewery.  So, since the restaurant did a dry run for opening next week, they hand out dinner passes to test the cooks and staff.  Mollie’s company got some, so they took us to try it out.   It’s not bad. Not great, but not bad.  Might go back, but it’s pretty uninspired.   Just like most chain places, but the waitress was pretty good, and it was free. . . granite.jpg
Had a coffee @ the closest Starbucks, and then home to watch West Wing, and relax, since we don’t have to rise early on Monday.
Oh yeah, the pic is from  Peggy’s jam yesterday. She was nice enough to send a couple pics of us.
Time for bed.   More tomorrow. . .

What the hell is wrong with you people?

I just finished reading the story in the NY Times about the men who crashed an SUV into the gate @ the Glasgow airport. . .

” A witness to the attack said on
BBC television that one of the car’s occupants had been ablaze from
head to foot, and as he struggled with the police, “was throwing
punches and shouting ‘Allah, Allah.’ ”

What the hell is wrong with you people? Every religion has their zealots, or members to the extremist side of the belief system, but, it seems to us common everyday folks in the Midwest that it’s a bit outta hand.   What kind of religion dictates that someone who isn’t a member of their forced fraternity must be killed.  Sounds a bit paranoid to me.  You want to be Muslim, great! you want to be Hindu, fine. You want to be whatever, ok.   But seriously, I really don’t give a rat’s ass, as they say, or care.  Really I don’t. But, to force other people to either join, or die, is such a wimpy ass way to go about gaining converts.   “My god/goddess has a bigger stick than yours”, is not really the way to convince others to want to become a member. . .

I feel sorry for you, taking innocent lives for your religion.  I think you a group of small minded, short sighted, mean, men, who obviously have some sort of phallic metaphor displacement.

There is a very special place in hell, where, 16 vestal virgins are going to beat your ass mercilessly for being so fucking stupid and cruel to the innocent of the world.
